Please debate whether philosophy is important in visual art or it is just the visuals that are important...

those to whom we consider masters were philosophers kandinskey was a philosopher, klee was a philosopher, Picasso was a philosopher, there are many more. philosophy gives eye, it gives you inspiration,it is that which leads you to newness. art in west was never dissociated from mainstream philosophy and literature of the west. modernity was a vision that came from modern philosophies. Postmodern art now on the move too comes from philosophy of postmodern thinkers like Deleuze AND Lyotard. Without philosophy there is no art. visual of art is not something that is achieved craftily rather is effect of the philosophical endeavor of the artist. when Deleuze said that fish is a poster he is providing visuals to us together with new way of seeing.

Letter was about relationship between things and words, thought and visuals, resemblance and similitude, Magaritte seeks confirmation on what he believes about thought and things. He says things do not have resemblances; they do or do not have similitude, only thought resembles. It resembles by being what it sees, hears, or knows; it becomes what the world offers it. Agreeing what Foucault discussed in his book but he asked for a problem which he encountered in painting. He asks “painting interposes a problem: there is the thought that sees and can be visibly described. La

The most important is the thought process. So one would agree that Philosophy is important.

Without it a painting is not interesting. A poor work of art.
But only thought process and no skill is also not good.
So both are important and without one the other has no value.
